Storm water infiltration
Soakaway sections can be installed individually or by combining several together to provide sufficient storage and area of exfiltration.
The effective storage capacity should be calculated using the depth of chamber below the invert of the incoming pipe and the base of the chamber or the top of the water table whichever is the highest.
Soakaways are being used increasingly as part of SUDS schemes with new building works in urban areas as a sustainable way of dealing with rainwater and surface water run-off – and to avoid the costs of sewer upgrading.
Soakaway units are supplied with 70mm diameter holes.
|For shaft / chamber section||Standard number of 75mm diameter perforations per section|
|DN||0.5m Deep||1.0m Deep|
AG operates a Quality Assurance Scheme to these standards to cover all aspects of production.
All units are supplied with suitable lifting points.
A precast concrete manhole is a strong, durable structure with its own inherent strength and does not require a concrete surround at standard depths.
All units are manufactured and tested in accordance with BS EN 1917: 2002 and BS 5911-3: 2002 which, in addition to specifying dimensional tolerances, etc., clearly defines all the performance tests necessary to ensure that the product will perform satisfactorily in service.
